Who here is in love with Erik, both Leroux book and movie? I am a huge fangirl of both him and Raoul. I feel so sorry for the poor darling. Every single time I have watched the movie I have cried like anything. I don't mind his disfigurement at all. But what annoys me slightly in the movie is that it is not intense enough. He needs to be alot uglier than he is, but anyway, we can't have everything. What do you think of christine leaving him and oging with Raoul? Personally I think that is the way it had to be i can't see it any other way. but it is so sad. However, it is so beautiful the way he makes that incredibly heroic sacrifice and letting her go, it's like... wow!! It makes me love him even more.

I know! I love Erik. I think him and Christine really had this bond that they shared, but it wasn't right for her to live her life beneath the Opera house. I love that he loved her so much, he sacrificed his own feelings and let her go. The thing that makes me cry is thinking that after he let her go, he still watched her live her life but he wasn't in it.

yeah.. I know exactly how you feel. It's so sad, but it's beautiful too. As she kissed him she chose to marry him out of love for Raoul. He realized that it was wrong to expect a young beautiful woman to live her life with a much older man with no real life, and he can hear the mob coming. That decides him. When he cries when she gives the ring back to him, I am like "NNNNOOOOO" but it's also like... "awwww". (if you get what I mean) It's so lovely the way she gives him the ring, but only for a keepsake. Poor darling Erik... at last he is getting the love and sympathy he deserved so long ago. (if you believe in the story like I do.)

i love erik! he may be 'ugly' but he has the most beautiful soul, no matter how much he kills. i love him so much! and it's much more than just pity, like what some versions seem to make it out as all that christine felt. i adore any man who writes music like that. and i think he's beyond genius i think, i don't think his mind is describable by the english language. he's just so otherworldly, how else could he have convinced christine he was an angel? and his voice...did i tell you what i think of his voice? the most beautiful thing in the world. and he's such a powerful presence, so sexual and graceful and passionate. and christine just left him for raoul, who IMO has never known passion. yes he loves her, but not as deeply as erik does. erik loves her with his entire heart and soul. and she just left him because raoul was the 'sensible' choice. i would gladly marry erik and live with him down in his lair, i prefer the night anyway. i would be estatically happy living with him as long as he let me out in fresh air every so often, which i think he would because he did with christine. sorry that was a bit odd sounding, oh well. what do you mean that you believe in the story? do you mean you think it actually happened? cause i do. and you think you love erik now, wait til you read kay's book, you'll fall head over heels. at least i did.

yeah, i have that online version in my favorites for when i have to take the book back to the library. but i would look around your local libraries a bit before you rea that if i were you, cause it's much better to read the actual book. in the online version, they don't have simple things like italics on certain words, etc.so you don't get the full effect. yes, i liike to believe it's true to, which is why i long to go to the paris opera house and snoop around, hehe.

Ooooh I read it! I borrowed it from the library!! I love it sooo much!! ;D He's sooo beautiful.. the way he respects every woman so much.. oh how I love that beautiful man. but I didn't like the way it made Raoul seem like a drunken moron. I like Raoul too.

he wasn't a drunken moron, his 'friends' were. he was just desperate, and telling his friends what they were saying about him having a sleeper was ridiculous. i though kay portrayed raoul pretty well, only version i have any respect for.
and kay erik is just amazing, don't you think? just ... words cannot describe.
didn't you just hate having to give it back? i read mine twice cause i couldn't keep away from it. i could send you the word file if you would like, it has a few minor mistakes, but mainly just spelling and grammar type stuff i think. if you wanted to read it again without paying a fortune, lol.

I have to take it back tomorrow! *cries non stop* yes, but Raoul was really mean to Christine, saying she was insane and that. Poor darling. Why won't anyone understand him. I think Raoul is just as misunderstood by us as Erik is in the books! But Kay's Erik is.... oohhh... I could go on forever. I love him so much. Kay gives Erik SO much more depth.

yeah, but he was a bit discreet when he was saying she was crazy, i think he was mean to her when he wouldn't let her see erik again. i don't thin raoul's misunderstood (sorry), i think he is exactly how he seems. in leroux's-spoiled, fopish, pansy, cried too much. in kay's he wasn't as bad, but he was pretty possesive and a bit misogynistic (sp?). sorry, not the biggest raoul fan here, lol.

I'll make sure I steer away from it, because if I see Raoul insulted one more time I will scream so loudly that I'll be heard on the other side of the world.

Lol! I'ts so funny posting again.. I feel so slack.. I just haven't been here for so long. That is not a nice phan phic at all. yes, lets just blame it all on Raoul because Christine marries him instead of hte Phantom. Obviously ERik knew she needed to be with Raoul or else why would he have told her to go with him? grrr.. One day I am going to write a phan phic in which Raoul is as NICE as he really is. Lol, this is Erik's thread! hehe. whoops.
